August 29, 2011 Dear EOC Colleagues: We understand that the majority of you are operating under grants that expire on August 31, 2011 – just two days from now. COE has had numerous conversations with the Department of Education about this. While we cannot tell you what day grant award notifications will be released, we can only assure you that Department personnel are making their best efforts to transmit the information as soon as possible. At this moment, the delay in results is not a question of funding as the FY 2011 appropriations process is complete. Rather, it’s a matter of bureaucratic processes. The only advice we can give you at this moment is to contact your Member of Congress and urge them to pressure the Department of Education to release grant award notifications as soon as possible. We share your concerns and frustration and hope that these matters will be resolved as quickly as possible.
