Did you know that Saturday, February 26, 2011 is National TRIO Day?
In 1986, Congress passed a resolution designating the last Saturday of each February as National TRIO Day. This is a national day of service, during which the nation should focus attention on the needs of disadvantaged young people and adults aspiring to improve their lives, the necessary investment if they are to become contributing citizens of the country, and to the talent wasted if that investment is not made.
TRIO programs around the country will celebrate National TRIO Day through various community service projects, parades, and other events. Please join us for our Weekly Government Relations conference call at 2:00 p.m. (Eastern) to share ideas and learn about what others in the community are doing to mark this special occasion.
