REGISTRATION is open for the Renaissance TRIO Training Program (Priority 5)
Strategies for Outreach & Intervention (Hard to Reach Populations)
Priority #5 – Training on: proven strategies for recruiting and serving hard to reach populations--including students who are limited English proficient, students from groups that are traditionally underrepresented in postsecondary education, students who are individuals with disabilities, students who are homeless children and youths (as this term is defined in section 725 of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 11434a), students who are foster care youth, or other disconnected students .
DATES and LOCATIONS :
• Seattle, WA (March 17 – 19, 2011)
• San Juan, PR (April 14 – 16, 2011)
• New Orleans, LA (June 2 – 4, 2011)
NO REGISTRATION FEE, FREE MATERIALS , and MEALS PROVIDED (hot breakfast and LUNCH each day). TRAVEL STIPENDS of $125 (for first 70 TRIO registrants at each session, mailed after training). In addition a sponsored dinner for interested program staff will provide information on curriculum materials that support a rigorous program of study.
