Essential
Functions of Position
Under the direction
of the Vice President of Student Services, the Student Support Services Grants
Director shall perform and be responsible for the following duties:
Responsible for all
aspects of the ESL and Regular Student Support Services (SSS) program,
including coordination, planning and oureach in support of the program
goals. Recruit, select and train Student Support Services staff in
accordance with district policy. Supervise the activities of all full-time and
part-time Student Support Services personnel as they provide required services
for SSS participants. Develop and impliment successful proccesses for the
identification, selection and retention of eligible participants in the Student
Support Services program, including the collection and maintenance of data
tracking student contacts and performance. Regular progress reports to
the Vice President of Student Services to assure successful use of services and
attainment of goals and objectives for the program. Maintain strong
working relationships, including conducting training sessions, with academic
and support services departments on campus to promote the goals and objectives
of TRiO. Serve on Reedley College committees and attend divisional and
department meetings and activities. Serve as liaison between Reedley College
and the U.S. Department of Education; other duties as assigned.
General: Responsibilities
include budget development and oversight; systems development and
implementation; assure compliance with appropriate college guidelines and
regulations. This position has supervisory responsibilities which include
the assigning, monitoring and reviewing the work of others. Assignment may include both day and evening hours.
Minimum
Qualifications
Include an earned
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, or a valid
California Community College Credential and demonstrated sensitivity to
and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability,
gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community
college students.
Desirable
Qualifications
A
master’s degree in
counseling, education, leadership, public administration or closely related
fields. Three years recent professional experience in
providing programs and services for economically or educationally disadvantaged
individuals, and/or three years recent experience in a leadership position.
Conditions
of Employment
203 duty days and 22
vacation days for a total of 225 days per year contingent upon funding.
Salary
and Benefits
Salary Range is $92,335 - $116,354 based on
education and experience. A doctoral stipend of $1,945 is
available. In addition, the District offers an attractive fringe benefit
package including health, dental, and vision coverage for the employee and
dependents, and life insurance as well as disability coverage for
employees. Employees are also members of the California State Teachers’
Retirement System (CalSTRS).
Selection
Procedure

desirable qualifications. They will be invited to

applicable). Based on this rating, a small number of applicants will be
selected as the “recommended candidates”. A hiring recommendation will be
made by the College President and forwarded to the Board of Trustees of State
Center Community College District for final approval.
