Senate Subcommittee Approves $15 Million Increase for TRIO

Dear TRIO Colleague:
Today, the Senate Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations Subcommittee approved its FY 2011 funding bill which includes a $15 million increase for TRIO (for a total of $868.1 million). The full committee is scheduled to mark up its version of the bill on Thursday, July 29th.
Two weeks ago, the House Labor-HHS-Education Appropriations Subcommittee provided TRIO a $25.6 million or 3% increase for a total funding level of $878.7 million. The full House Committee is not expected to consider the bill before Congress adjourns for August recess.
