CenCal Members,

We have almost 490 TRiO Day Participants and Staff ready and set for next Saturday April 17th, 2010 here at Fresno State University.

Attached I have included a step by step process for the chaperones bringing students to our event that includes parking info, Trio Day info, and lunch info. I also included a map for parking.  Parking will be at Lot J for all busses & vans, and will be free.

We have 3 speakers confirmed, Jim Costa Congressman, J. Antonio Ramirez Mayor of Firebaugh, Kimberly Crews, English Professor @ FSU, & possibly Devin Nunes Congressman.  The agenda is up on the website for you to download as well.   www.westopcencal.com.  We also have made time to recognize CenCal Scholarship winners.

Here is the breakdown per program (total students/staff) just to make sure:
17 Cal Poly ETS Nelda Olvera
33 COS UB M/S Kristen Correia
23 FCC ETS Ginna Bearden
54 FCC UB Dennis Adkins
49 FSU ETS Luis Morales
65 FSU UB Susana Cruz
43 FSU UB ELL Norma Cuevas
24 NHU ETS Patty Ahumada
26 NHU ETS Middle School  Lilian Zelaya
51 NHU UB Saira Canales
10 NHU (Staff all three)
50 RCC UB Franky Meza
21 UCM UB Cristina Espinoza
466 total + 24 volunteers = 490 attendees

If I can receive an email from each of the counselors above stating who will be giving their student chosen to give a 1 min. proclamation up on stage.
For ours it will be Gustavo Gonzalez, so only 11 more students to go...

Also if every counselor in charge, can let me know if you will be wanting a tour of FSU, our UB alumni Club will be giving them from 2-3 pm.  Let me know either way, and if you plan on leaving right after Vintage Days around 2, just know that you can meet your group outside the SSU and walk them to your busses.  There will be a lot of people here, because of Vintage Days.

Remember each participant should bring the following:
1)  CenCal Permission Slip
2)  TRiO Support Letter (will be passed over to Congressman Costa)
3)  a Canned Food for needy families (will go to drought victims)

Each participant will receive:
1) Trio Day Shirt (given at the event, to wear that day)
2) FSU promotional bag with FSU info
3) $6 for lunch at Vintage Days fair
4) Flyers to give out at Vintage Days fair.

Any forms you may should go to the website.  I will be working on a canned food drive flyer to give out, but won't get to it today, hopefully tomorrow!  Again hope the event is a success and more importantly we keep our TRiO programs alive, by educating our participants and those who care.
