OBJECTIVES: The
mission of the program is to provide critical financial assistance to
increase graduate rates among Latino students in post secondary
education.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must demonstrate: tull-time enrollment in a United
States Department of Education accredited community college, four-year
university, or graduate/professional program during the period for
which scholarship is requested; financial need; consistent, active
participation in public and/or community service activities; strong
writing skills; and U.S. citizenship or legal permanent
residency.
FUNDING
The scholarships provide recipients with a one-time scholarship
of: $5,000 to attend a graduate-level academic institution; or $2,500
to attend a four-year academic institution; or $1,000 to attend a
community college of AA/AS granting institution. Scholarship awards
are intended to provide assistance with tuition, room and board,
textbooks, and other educational expenses associated with college
enrollment.
