Good afternoon everybody,

This year's CenCal Professional Development Seminar (PDS) is right around the corner.  It will be taking place on Oct. 8th & 9th. As the fundraising committee chair, I will be responsible for the Silent Auction being held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 and I would like to ask for volunteers to assist me with some of the duties.

I would need individuals to assist with the following easy tasks: 

- Decorating room in which Silent Auction will be held

- Collection of Silent Auction items on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 and the morning of Thursday, October 8, 2009

- Monitoring Silent Auction Tables throughout the day (could be done in shifts of two, you and a friend J)

This years theme for the Silent Auction will be “California Dreamin’.”  Please refer to the attached flyer for more information.

The Professional Development Seminar is being held in Fresno; therefore, it is almost the center of California.  This theme, “California Dreamin’”encompasses the whole state of California and what it is known for; therefore, here is a list of some of the examples of what you can donate for the Silent Auction in the form of baskets, wrapped items, and/or open items:

-          California Wine basket

-          California Food basket

-          Sports event tickets (IT’S FOOTBALL SEASON!!) Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, College Football

-          Athletic apparel (California teams- Professional or Collegiate)

-          Music Basket (California based)

-          Movie Basket (California based)

-          Hotel Accomodations (California based)

-          Spa, Massage gift certificates

-          Restaurant gift certificates

-          AND THE LIST COULD GO ON!!!!!!!!!!

BE CREATIVE, MAKE IT FUN, MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO RAISE RECORD BREAKING FUNDS FOR OUR STUDENT’S SCHOLARSHIPS!!!!

Yes, ALL proceeds collected from the Silent Auction will go towards SCHOLARSHIPS for our STUDENTS!!!!  Therefore, start gathering items for the Silent Auction as soon as possible!!!
