The California College Pathways Project is holding an educational web
seminar on financial aid issues related to former foster youth in
post-secondary education. Hear from financial aid experts as they share
information about changes in the regulation and administration of key
financial aid programs that can assist former foster youth with their
educational needs. Topics to be addressed will include:
* Changes on the 2009 FAFSA application and how this may impact who
is determined as an independent student.
* Ways to advise youth and their caregivers on how to answer the new
questions on the FAFSA.
* Clarification and application deadlines for the new Chafee Grant
award cycle and how this may impact the disbursement process for grant
